  • Director - WA

    Rania Ghandour is a co-Director at Walk Through Walls. She is a has forged a career across journalism, education and communications. She is passionate about leadership, ethics and citizenship. Rania’s skills and values align in projects that foster new opportunities, wellbeing, equity and inclusivity while bringing positive change to individuals and communities. In her role as director, she acts as project manager, fundraiser and adviser on wide-ranging projects for individual artists, corporations, arts and community organisations, local and State government and agencies.

    Rania’s high-order communication and research skills includes extensive interviewing experience, exceptional written communication skills and the ability to rapidly analyse and synthesise large amounts of material into a form that can be easily read and understood by a range of audiences. She has received national accreditation as a mediator after completing training in Alternative Dispute Resolution for Professionals, finessing her skills in active listening and message crafting.

    She has worked with many WA arts organisations in planning and communications including PICA, Perth Theatre Trust, Performing Lines WA, WAYTCo, and Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, Aboriginal Corporations including AACHWA, Ngaarda Media, Juluwarlu and Baiyungu Aboriginal Corporation, as well as independent artists.

    Previous roles Rania has held include media and communications manager at the Perth International Arts Festival, features writer at The West Australian newspaper, and secondary and tertiary teacher in Australia and France. She currently writes feature stories for SeeSaw Magazine.


  • Associate - WA

    Andrew Nicholls is a Senior Consultant and Strategist at Walk Through Walls. He is an artist, writer and curator with more than 25 years’ experience collaborating with diverse communities to support authentic cultural expression. His projects are defined by their ability to balance meaningful community impact with artistic excellence and strive to articulate the distinctive identities of the communities and individuals with whom he works.

    Particularly driven by historical research and engagement with heritage sites and museum collections, Andrew has curated projects in iconic locations around the globe, but with a particular focus on Western Australia’s regions. His work across the State for arts organisation FORM from 2013-2024 included the roles of Lead Curator for the highly acclaimed Tracks We Share: Contemporary Art of the Pilbara, (the first survey of Aboriginal art from the Pilbara region) at The Art Gallery of Western Australia in 2022, and co-curator of REPRESENT! (the first survey of Western Australian Aboriginal Figurative practice) with Noongar artist and Elder Sharyn Egan in 2023-2024.

    Andrew has curated more than 70 art and design exhibitions, been engaged as Western Australian correspondent for several national arts journals and has raised millions of dollars in funding for Western Australian artists and communities over the past two decades. He has exhibited his own artwork and undertaken numerous international residencies. He has won major commissions for organisations in Australia and the United States (including his $250,000 ceiling mural commission for the City of Perth Library), and his work is held in major Australian collections including those of Artbank, The Art Gallery of Western Australia and the City of Perth, among others.


  • Associate - NSW

    Emily Mann is an Associate with Walk Through Walls. Emily’s specialist area is developing cultural and tourism strategies focused on growth and sustainability outcomes for cultural organisations, their regional community and economy, and their investors.

    Emily has more than 15 years’ diverse arts management experience in metropolitan and regional settings across New South Wales, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Her previous roles include CEO of Darwin Festival, Festival Director of the Parkes Elvis Festival, Program Manager of the Perth Writers Festival as part of Perth International Arts Festival, programmer and financial administrator at Sydney Writers’ Festival and programmer at Sydney Living Museums. She was an Australia Council for the Arts peer from 2017 to 2021.
    Emily’s professional experience balancing artistic, cultural, operational, community and commercial outcomes provides her with a holistic viewpoint in developing strategic plans, cultural projects and funding submissions. She understands the organisational challenges of operating in the not-for-profit environment while managing investor, partner, community and artist expectations to achieve success for all.


  • Director - VIC

    Mollie Hewitt is a co-Director at Walk Through Walls, based in Victoria. She has extensive experience in strategic management, arts leadership, curatorial and cultural project management and community development, in regional communities in particular. With tertiary training in the arts and social impact, Mollie has delivered major projects for and with communities throughout WA.

    As the General Manager of Western Australian Youth Theatre Company (2018-2021) Mollie was responsible for the strategic and organisational vision and the delivery of productions with professional artists and young people including BESIDE at Perth Festival (2021) at REST at Fringe World (2019-2021). Under her strategic leadership WAYTCo doubled its turnover and FTE capacity in two years.

    As Curator and Regional Manager at FORM (2010-2018), Mollie managed the organisation’s arts programming in the Pilbara and Hedland (including the establishment of Spinifex
    Hill Studio and the operations of the Courthouse Gallery). As part of her curatorial work, she delivered creative programming; metropolitan, regional and remote residencies and exhibitions; including working on the digital return of content for the award-winning Yiwarra Kuju: the Canning Stock Route and initiating Mungari Wiltja, a collaboration with Tjanpi Desert Weavers and Polyglot Theatre. She managed the delivery of the 2018 Pilbara Cultural and Creative Forum, the Hedland Art Awards 2012-2017, has been an independent judge on Art Award panels and has chaired the selections panel for major public artwork commissions.
